Former Senator of RhodeIsland Lincoln Chafee had this to say about one of the Democratic presidential contenders:
he reserved no kind words for his republican colleagues, but as of now not one of them had expressed regrets about supporting this war. In fact even when 70% of the country is against it, all the republican contenders except for Paul said (in the last debate) that Iraq War was a good thing. go figure.“I find it surprising now, in 2008, how many Democrats are running for president after shirking their constitutional duty to check and balance this president,” writes Chafee...
“They argue that the president duped them into war, but getting duped does not exactly recommend their leadership. Helping a rogue president start an unnecessary war should be a career-ending lapse of judgment.”
