This is what your government understands as your wireless experience: FCC told the subcommittee on communications (committee on commerce): from an October 17, 2007 subcommittee hearing. Is this your experience as well?
Mr. Lowell McAdam, CEO of Verizon was invited as witness before the committee.THE FCC’S ANNUAL REPORT TELLS US THAT MOBILE SERVICE IS THE MOST COMPETITIVE SECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS. THE FCC REPORT ALSO FOUND THAT CONSUMERS FREQUENTLY CHANGE SERVICES AND THAT NEW SERVICES ARE CONSTANTLY BEING INTRODUCED FOR CONSUMERS. I CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND AND EXPERIENCE THE FRUSTRATION THAT ALL CONSUMERS FEEL SOMETIMES WHEN DEALING WITH MASS PRODUCTS. BUT I ALSO WORRY THAT IF CONGRESS ACTS TO RASHLY THE END RESULT COULD BE THAT CONSUMER PRICES WOULD GO UP, OR THAT SOME CONSUMERS WOULD BE FORCED INTO LESS ATTRACTIVE WIRELESS PLANS.
If you interested in going over long boring videos, they have streaming video of the hearing. The piece of legislation being considered covers the following topics:
1. Transparent Billing
2. Early Termination Fee
3. Data Coverage
4. Locking Cell Phones.
